BLS implements skill development projects for the drop out youth who have very minimal educational qualification and also for women. The programmes focus on training for a period of 2 to 4 months and getting them employability or helping them in starting an enterprise.
Employability programmes
The programs are done after a series of field visits, market scans, and research. The entire program is divided into 3 phases- The pre-training phase, the Training phase, and the Post-training phase.
Progress till date
BLS has initiated more than 25 centers acrossTamil Nadu, Telangana, Odisha, and Kerala
BLS has trained 7000 candidates and get Job placed 6000 as of 31st March 2021.
We have another 1800 candidates planned for training and placement for the year 21-22.
Training has been given for the candidates across various sectors such as

- Automobile (Two and Three Wheeler Mechanism, Driving Assistant, Show Room Hostess, Welding Assistant, Automotive sales and post-sales service),
- Tourism and Hospitality (Food and Beverage Service, House Keeping)
- Electrical (Domestic Electrician)
- Beauty and Wellness ( Beauty and Hair dressing).
Candidates are trained on main domain skills and also on basic computers, spoken English, soft skills etc as well

Bright Light Society is implementing ITC placement-linked skill training project for marginalized and poor youth in Tamil Nadu
Bright Light Society is implementing a placement-linked skill training project for marginalized and poor youth in Tamil Nadu. The project is being implemented under the SunehraKal CSR project of ITC. The skill training project is being implemented in Hosur, Viralimalai, Sivakasi, Karamadai, and Thiruvottiyur locations in Tamil Nadu. The candidates are being provided training in Retail Sales Associate, Customer Care Executive (CCE), Domestic Data Entry Operator, and Electrician Assistant. The candidates will also be provided On Job Training (OJT) under the project to enhance their job readiness. The project has been awarded for the training of 1500 poor youths 2021-22.
Bright Light Society is implementing a placement-linked skill training project for poor youth in the Hyderabad district of Telangana since 2019. The training focuses on providing market-oriented skills to the candidates. The project has been awarded to train 270 candidates in trades like Retail Sales Associate, Solar Installation, Fitter, and Customer Care Executive (CCE) for the year 2021-22. The candidates will be provided On Job Training (OJT) and will be placed in organized employment after training completion.
M4 Consortium BLS is implementing placement linked skill training for rural youth of Kerala, under DDU GKY project. The project is being implemented for Kudumbashree, Government of Kerala. We have been awarded target of training 365 rural youth under the project. We have set up the centre as per the project SOP and started the training during the year. The training is being provided in Arc metal welding, Tally and Food and Beverage Services. We have ensured that the candidates are provided industry oriented training and soft skills which will enhance their employability.

Bright Light Society has been awarded PMKVY project in Warangal and Siddipet districts of Telangana. The project has been awarded for training 150 youth in trades like General Duty Assistant, retail Associate and Custom care Executive (call center) . The candidates will be provided training in accordance with the latest industry standards. The candidates will be assessed by the respective Sector Skills Council (SSC), after which they will be issued certification. They will be provided OJT and placement with organized employers after training completion.
BLS is entered into an agreement with ITC CSR project for placement linked skill training of youth in Tamilnadu. We have implemented the project in 3 centers in Tamilnadu- Hosur,Viralimalai, and Thiruvottiyur . The project provides market-oriented and industry aligned training to the youth in trades like Retail Sales Associate, Customer Care Executive (CCE), Domestic Data Entry Operator and Electrician Assistant. The project ensures a participatory training pedagogy for effective learning by the trainees. The On Job Training (OJT) has also been conducted for the trainees for making them job ready. We have been awarded target of training 320 youths under the project
BLS is implementing placement linked skill training for rural youth in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, under DDU GKY project. The project is being implemented for Kudumbashree, Government of Kerala. We have been awarded target of training 105 rural youth under the project. We have set up the centre as per the project SOP and started the training during the year. The training is being provided in Food and Beverage Services. We have ensured that the candidates are provided industry oriented training and soft skills which will enhance their employability.
BLS is entered into an agreement with Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA), Government of Telangana for placement linked skill training of urban youth in Telangana. We have implemented the project in 8 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Telangana- Adilabad, Janagaon, Karimnagar, Khammam, Narsampet, Nirmal, Siddipet and Karimnagar. The project provides market-oriented and industry aligned training to the urban youth in trades like Retail Sales Associate, General Duty Assistant (GDA) and Customer Care Executive (CCE). The project ensures a participatory training pedagogy for effective learning by the trainees. The On Job Training (OJT) has also been conducted for the trainees for making them job ready. The major achievements and milestones under the project during the financial year is provided below: Project Statistics 848 candidates were trained under the project 621 candidates have been placed under the project.
The programme focused on automobile retail, soft skills and communication skills. Under the programme BLS trained 300 youths and placed 268. The programme covered the districts Madurai, Chennai, Trichy, Krishnagiri and Coimbatore
Bright Light Society has got an order from Mahalir Thittam under the DDU- GKY programme of MoRD for skill training of youth. Of the work order of 756 received, training has been completed for 756 youth in the trades such as retail, garments, health care, construction, Information Technology, Automotive and Hospitality across 7 districts and 643 candidates get Job placed.
The programme was supported by CII and HPCL and training was given to 50 candidates in retail and automobile
Bright Light Society conducted training in the automotive sector under the STAR programme of NSDC. 225 candidates were trained under the programme for SkillPro, and 154 candidates get Job placed.
Bright Light Society along with Amma Training institute is providing training to youth from marginalised sections of the society in various demand driven, market oriented, and employable courses. In Gudiyatham the programme was funded by the Gudiyatham Municipal Administration under the SJSRY scheme. BLS has trained 36 youth on tailoring and helped them with employment on completion of the course, 36 candidates get Job placed
Bright Light Society along with Sri Ragavendra ITI is providing training to youth on fashion designing and the programme was funded by Rasipuram Municipal Administration under SJSRY scheme. BLS has trained 126 youth and then provided them with employment on completion of the training,124 candidates get Job placed
Bright Light Society is providing training to youth on trades such as electrical, automobile, ITES, retail and beautician in collaboration with HPCL and Confederation of Indian Industries. So far 853 candidates have been trained and placed. The placement rate is around 80%
BLS is training the youth on beautician, electrical and also sales in colloboration with Labour Net. 140 youth have been trained and placed.
BLS is implementing skill training project for Skillpro funded by Aditya Birla Group. BLS has provided infrastructure, human resources, Lab equipment etc,. for the project in Erode, Namakkal, Madurai and Sivagangai. Targetted 965, trained 965 candidates and 862 candidates get Job placed
