Right to Education is a constitutional right and the government has been focusing on this for the past years. BLS has been successful in eradicating child labour from its interventional areas through various lobbying , awareness generation events. A specific programme on Child right was organized for generating awareness on child rights among children under 18yrs.
ISM(Indian System of Medicine) was promoted at the village level and the various practices of Indian medicines were demonstrated and oriented to the villagers , as a result people have started using locally available medicinal plants to keep their health. BLS has been focusing on community health through SHGs in some of its operational villages with the support of Govt. hospital. The main activities carried out the organization are o Referral services & linkages with government hospitals o Homeopathy and Medical Camps organized at rural level o Conducted 2 day Workshops at Thimmanaikampatty, Mathurutthu and Mangalapuram on Naturopathy by Dept. Of Naturopathy (NIN)– Pune supported by ministry of health and family welfare
Awareness program on prevention and control as well as support systems of government for HIV infected persons was given to the community on world AIDS day at Timmanickam Patti village. Awareness and medical check-up to identify HIV infection was conducted in 20 villages of Namagripet block in Namakkal district
